JOB DESCRIPTION

The Doctoral Program in Language Studies (DPLA) in the ITC Faculty is inviting applications for fixed-term employment. The positions are intended for students who have a valid right to study in the DPLA. The aim of the fixed-term assignment is either to bring the dissertation to the pre-examination phase or to finalize a clearly defined stage of the dissertation such as data collection, an article in an article-based dissertation, or a chapter of a monograph.   The fixed terms will be 2-3 months each. The total amount of funded months depends on the job requirement level of successful candidates.

Fixed-term employments must take place during the year 2024.   It will not be possible to postpone the funding.

REQUIREMENTS

To apply, a candidate must be a student in the Doctoral Program in Language Studies.

Fixed-term employments take place during the year 2024. Chosen candidates are required to report on the use of the funding at the end of the fixed term. The salary will be based on the Finnish University Salary System. The position of a Doctoral Researcher is placed on job requirement levels 2-4 of the salary table according to the current stage of the dissertation. In addition, the salary will include a share based on the candidate's personal performance. The total salary will be the sum of these two components.

Applications should include the following documents (in one combined PDF):

• The candidate’s description of the current stage of their dissertation and a work plan for the specific task they wish to complete with the funding (max. 2 pages). Please state the number of months (2-3) of the prospective funding and explain how you plan to use it. The plan should also include a description of how the funding will help you complete the dissertation. According to your plan, when are you committed to handing in your dissertation for pre-examination?
• A table of publications (current and future ones) for an article-based dissertation, or a table of contents in case of a monograph, 
• A preliminary list of courses (completed and future ones) to be counted towards your doctoral degree,
• A statement by the responsible supervisor: 
  • The supervisor’s view of how the funding will support the completion of the task described in the application as well as the whole dissertation.
  • Assurance that no other funding is available.
• Previous funding for the dissertation from different sources (funding history)

The selection of doctoral researchers will be based on the application documents.

TEHTÄVÄNKUVAUS

Informaatioteknologian ja viestinnän tiedekunnan  Kielten tohtoriohjelmassa on haettavana väitöskirjatutkijan määräaikaisia tehtäviä. Avoimet tehtävät on tarkoitettu Kielten tohtoriohjelman opiskelijoille. Määräaikaisen tehtävän tavoitteena on joko saattaa väitöskirjatyö esitarkastusvaiheeseen tai saattaa loppuun selkeästi määritelty väitöskirjatutkimuksen osatyö kuten esimerkiksi aineiston keruu, artikkelin tai monografian luvun viimeistely tai muu työvaihe. Määräaikaisuudet ovat 2-3 kuukautta. Rahoituskuukausien kokonaismäärä riippuu valituiksi tulevien hakijoiden vaativuustasoista.

Määräaikaisten työsuhteiden tulee toteutua vuoden 2024 aikana. Rahoitusta ei voida siirtää seuraaville vuosille.

HAKIJALTA EDELLYTETÄÄN

Hakijan tulee olla opiskelijana Kielten tohtoriohjelmassa.

TARJOAMME

Määräaikaisten työsuhteiden tulee toteutua vuoden 2024 aikana. Tehtävään valittujen tulee raportoida rahoituksen käytöstä määräaikaisen työsuhteen päättyessä. Tehtävän palkkaus määräytyy yliopistojen opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön palkkausjärjestelmän mukaisesti. Väitöskirjatutkijan tehtävä sijoittuu vaativuustasoille 2-4 väitöskirjatyön vaiheen mukaan. Lisäksi maksetaan henkilökohtaiseen työstä suoriutumiseen perustuvaa palkanosaa. Kokonaispalkka on näiden palkanosien summa.

Jätäthän hakemuksesi yliopiston sähköisellä hakulomakkeella (linkki löytyy tämän ilmoituksen alta). Hakuaika tehtäviin päättyy 21.5.2024 klo 23:59.

Liitä hakemukseesi (yhtenä pdf-tiedostona):

• Oma kuvaus (max. 2 sivua) väitöstyön tilanteesta sekä työsuunnitelma sen työvaiheen toteuttamisesta, johon rahoitusta haetaan. Mainitse hakemasi rahoituskuukausien määrä (2-3) ja sovita työsuunnitelma siihen. Kuvaile, miten työvaihe edistää väitöskirjan valmistumista. Kerro myös, milloin olet suunnitelmasi mukaan sitoutunut palauttamaan väitöskirjasi esitarkastukseen. 
• Taulukko väitöskirjaan sisällytettävistä julkaisuista (toteutuneet ja tulevat) tai väitöskirjamonografian sisällysluettelo.

• Listaus tutkintoon sisällytettävistä opintojaksoista (jo suoritetut/suunnitellut), 
• Vastuuohjaajan lausunto: 
  • Vastuuohjaajan näkemys, miten rahoituskausi hyödyttää hakemuksessa kuvatun työvaiheen loppuun saattamista ja edistää väitöstutkimuksen valmistumista määräajassa.   
  • Vahvistus siitä, että muuta rahoitusta työlle ei ole saatavilla.
• Aiemmin saatu rahoitus väitöskirjalle eri lähteistä (rahoitushistoria) 

Valinta tehdään hakudokumenttien perusteella.
